The record breaking dry rolls on with the last 20 months recording a ‘decile 1’. This is all due to the accumulation of a poor spring in 2023, prolonged dry throughout 2024 and the driest summer in 24/25 for decades. Our focus on lifting fat cover and eye muscle has certainly come at the right time, allowing our stock to maintain condition and still perform in these trying times.

Our Stud Reserve RAMSGATE 220578 in our February classing of our Ewe and Ram Lambs 2024 drop has certainly set the bar high on visual appraisal, producing beautifully structured animals with leading growth rates, coupled with long stapled soft wools.

Our next phase of data collection, including genomic testing, muscle/ fat scanning and side sampling, pre-March shearing, is currently underway. We look forward to receiving our MerinoSelect ASBV figures in due course … should be some great reading. Our entire stud flock that produced this drop has been genomically tested in prior years leading to a greater depth of data, enabling more accuracies and better predictability in your buying decisions.
